Dear friends,

the WWCS was founded in 1986. It is affiliated with the Swiss Cynological Society (SKG) and is the sole association responsible for looking after and representing the Whippet and Italian Greyhound breeds.

The Club aims to preserve and promote both breeds, to preserve the desired breed characteristics and breed-specific concerns in breeding, at exhibitions, in races and at coursing within the framework of the applicable standards and regulations of the Fédération Cynologique Internationale (FCI), the Swiss Cynological Society (SKG) and the Interest Group for Sighthound Racing (IGWR).

The particular aim is to keep the Whippet as a beautiful, elegant and anatomically perfect dog with a lot of nobility, charisma and harmony, but also as a sporty and strong racing dog with a lot of guts and a secure nature; likewise the greyhound as the smallest, delicate and graceful, but also resilient greyhound.

The Club also deals with the organization of competitions and events, the provision of information, the promotion of friendly relationships among the members, as well as breed-specific training and further education and the election of judges.
